Notes to my future self...

I've never been great at journaling.

Staring at a blank page, just recounting my day? My brain doesn't work that way.

But over the years, I've realized that my CEO Planner has become how I record the things going on in my life and my business.

Not just because it's a record of my appointments and tasks, but because each week includes a Weekly Review section that includes these questions (plus more but focusing on these today):

1️⃣ What's Working?
2️⃣ What's Not Working?

When you answer those questions every single week, you start to see patterns emerge.

Since I created this system over 10 years ago, I realized that sometimes there were things I could adjust immediately - but sometimes, I'd forget by the time it came up again a year later.

For example: the last month of school with three kids in three different schools is absolutely INSANE. When they were little, it was full of class parties and dress like a whatever days. Now that they are older, we are working on AP Exams, final projects, and big presentations.

Somehow, I'd have amnesia about it when I was making my own plan for my life and business at the beginning of the year.

May would get filled up with speaking and interviews and client calls - only for me to feel like I wasn't getting a minute to just BE between my business and my family.

So I layered on a new CEO Habit - Notes to My Future Self.

My calendar is full of Notes to My Future Self.

When I know a busy season is coming up, I make sure to actually put it in my calendar to prevent the super ambitious version of me from overloading my calendar.

And May is one of those months full of notes to my Future Self.

If you're also starting the month today looking at your calendar, I'd love to know if you have tried this to protect your time and energy!

To your success!
