Hey Reader, There's a thing I see most women entrepreneurs do around this time every year, and almost nobody admits it out loud. They abandon the plan they wrote in January. Not all at once. Not officially. Just quietly. The Google doc gets buried. The quarterly review gets skipped. The plan that was supposed to be guiding decisions stops getting opened, and a month later they're running on default and calling it being busy. A plan you stopped using months ago isn't actually a plan anymore. This is how most entrepreneurs end up in a Q3 where nothing feels like it's working and they can't tell why. This week on Promote Yourself to CEO, I'm walking you through the exact mid-year review I'm running on my own business right now. Messy parts included. Facebook disabled my ads account for six weeks and pushed a one-month project into three and a half. The March retreat had to be restructured because travel patterns shifted. There have been weeks recently where I genuinely haven't had it in me to record at all. None of that was in the plan I wrote in January. All of it is the year I'm actually living. In this week's episode, I'm getting into: → Why the all-or-nothing thinking of "if I can't hit 100%, I'm just going to drop that goal" is actually what's killing your momentum, and my permission slip for you to give yourself more grace → The leading metric I track every single week that tells me what my revenue is going to look like before it shows up (and why most entrepreneurs are watching the wrong number entirely) → How 'thinking like a story' completely changes how and what you're selling between now and December → The one thing I'm changing in my own business right now after running this review on myself, and why it surprised me → What I had to give myself permission to stop doing this year that I would've pushed through in a previous season
There's also a free Mid-Year Review Workbook that goes with this episode. It walks you through the same review I'm running on my own business this month, step by step, so you can do it on yours this week. This review has become one of my most important practices - especially as a working mom who is just a week away from my kids being home for the summer! Now is the perfect time to reset so you don't lose momentum over the next few months.
