Last week, I shared how I put my podcast Promote Yourself to CEO on cruise control over the summer so I could focus on taking care of my parents. But my podcast is just one part of my Client Growth Engine. Promote Yourself to CEO is the core of my Nurture strategy... but it's not the only part of a strong marketing system. Nurture marketing is all about showing up consistently for your community potential clients to build the know, like, and trust prior to Inviting them to work with you. But you've also gotta get in front of NEW potential clients. Attract is where a lot of small business owners drop the ball when life gets busy but it's essential to ensuring you have a steady flow of new potential clients. How did I put my Attract marketing on cruise control over the months I was moving my parents into senior living? I had to change strategies. Usually my Attract strategy is podcast interviews and public speaking. And for the last few years, I've averaged 2-3 interviews a month. But I simply didn't have the time or emotional capacity to keep that up. So I shifted to running ads on Facebook & Instagram. With the help of Gabi Day aka my Fairy Ads Mother, we implemented an ad campaign over the last few months to promote the Fired Up & Focused Challenge. This challenge has been one of my top performing Engage assets for years. I spent a little time updating the challenge and refining the followup emails to invite people to the next CEO Retreat, then it was ready to roll. With the combination of paid ads (Attract) and the challenge (Engage), we have added over 1,000 new people to my email list! And because we included an invitation to attend The CEO Retreat in the Fired Up & Focused followup sequence, the sales more than covered the ad spend. Would I recommend paid ads to you? It depends. The Fired Up & Focused Challenge has been a proven asset for years. I knew that it converted. If you have a proven asset, especially one that pays for itself, then it could be a fit. The bigger question is do you have the ability to go through the setup and testing required for successful paid ads. I worked with Gabi because she has this part dialed in. She told me what to do, I recorded a bunch of videos, and we tweaked until we got the results I was looking for. This is a much more sophisticated marketing strategy. And while it did take some effort on my part in the beginning, once it was up and running, it allowed me to step back and focus on my family. But it also required not only paying for the ads, but hiring someone to manage the entire system so I wouldn't have to. Now you can see that with paid ads (Attract) running to the Fired Up & Focused Challenge (Engage) with automated 5 days of content (Nurture) and additional followup emails inviting people to The CEO Retreat (Invite), my Client Growth Engine was running on cruise control!
