Have you tried this Reader? Blue for client sessions. Green for deep work. Purple for admin. And a pink block every Monday Morning labeled CEO TIME that got pushed to Tuesday when an email came in, then pushed again, then deleted when things continued to come up. When women talk to me about capacity, they almost always talk about it as a time management problem. Not enough hours in the day, booked solid and still behind, never quite getting ahead. So they go try color-coded time-blocking on their calendar, a brand new planning system, and for a couple of weeks, it feels a little better. Until a client emails last minute with a bunch of new requests, a team member suddenly needs to change their availability, sales are slower than you anticipated, and that beautiful calendar falls apart. Again. And at the same time, you can have lots of white space on your calendar and still feel like you're at max capacity, unable to take on one more thing. Capacity isn’t just a time management problem... there are multiple types of capacity we have to manage as small business owners and none of them respond to a color code: → Cognitive load. A light day on the calendar can still get overwhelming when your mental to-do list never ends and you're always worried you're going to forget something. → Emotional capacity. Being 'on call' for your business is exhausting, especially when you feel like you've always got to be available for your clients and your team. → Marketing stability. If your relationship with marketing is 'on-again-off-again', and new clients only show up when you're the one doing everything, a low revenue month can suddenly turn into scramble that takes over everything you had planned. → Feedback loops. If you don’t know what’s working until revenue dips, you’re running on vibes. Running on vibes equals a revenue rollercoaster. When any one of these is maxed out, everything routes through you. Rearranging color-coded blocks on the calendar doesn’t change the fact that you're the system your business depends on. And if you're the system, you're also the ceiling. That’s why I’m running the CEO Ceiling Assessment live on Tuesday, October 20 at 12PM ET. It’s a free, 50-minute working session, not a webinar, and we’ll go through all five capacity domains together, calendar included. You’ll score yourself green, yellow, or red in real time, and you’ll leave knowing which one is your real constraint, so you can spend the next 90 days on that one instead of trying to fix all five at once.
If you’ve already tried the planner, the time blocks, and the color coding, and you’re still the one holding everything together, this one is for you. Racheal PS - Tuesday, October 20 at 12PM ET. Free, 50 minutes, and you’ll walk out knowing which of the five is holding your ceiling in place. RSVP here. |
